Well, as usual graphics took more time
I was very proud of being able to create an isometric landscape. With the mouse you were able to raise and lower terrain (like in Populous). In addition I was proud of how I developed a pathfinding algorithm by myself. Later I read in a book that it was a bi-directional Dijkstra
Ah, yes the good old days…
The people in the game themselves acted on their own (well, a simple heuristic), gathered food and wood to create more houses and to breed. Very nice
A programmer who helped me porting it to Windows used the engine (landscape, AI) for his own (likewise unfinished) game “Angel IV” later (see his homepage).
